Today I decided to work from home, perhaps it was the foot of snow covering the ground, or maybe it was the general desire not to go in…. but so far it’s been delightful! No one gets mad at you if you fall asleep when you work at home!
There is a crazy amount of snow up in North Vancouver right now – I haven’t seen this much in several years, Global Warming is such a deceiving word eh? Because at first, I was all for Global Warming, but now I’m having second thoughts.
After plowing my driveway 3 times, and the neighbors driveways – my neighbor Joe and I decided to take an old windsurfer down the hill near our houses. It didn’t work too well, but I did get a delightful shot of my mother face down in the snow.
In fact, I haven’t done much work today, but once and awhile the soul just needs a good day of laughter and rest. Hopefully it’ll all be gone by Saturday, or else how am I going to move?!?!

What's love got to do with it?
In just a few short days, I've known of 5 couples, long term in-love couples, who have changed their Facebook status to 'Jack and Jill are no longer in a relationship - with that broken heart sticking out as a symbol of their collective failure.
With only 2 weeks until Valentines Day, more and more broken hearts will form on Facebook news feed's around the country. In fact, the period between New Years and Valentines Day is when couples are twice as likely to break up.
Valentines Day celebrates the love between two people... but in reality, in the ever-so-wise words of Tina Turner - What's love got to do, got to do with it?
Society is far too centered on the word and idea of 'Love'. We are taught from a young age that we need to find Love - love our family, love our partner and we will find happiness.
It's a fraudulent idea.
People believe that once they love someone, it'll all work out, because isn't that how every other couple survives?
It's not by the way..... It is with hard work, respect, trust and honesty. These well kept secrets alone will make a relationship successful. Once again Tina had it right – What’s love but a second hand emotion.
And sometimes.... it just won't work, nor is it worth making it work. Couples tend to drag out relationships, keeping something alive that clearly isn't working for either of you.
But alas, you happen to love them.... oh so dearly, so you neither of you bring it up. JEEE-ZUS people, it's time to rip the security blanket away. Love won't solve your problems. It'll only make them worse.
Love is an addiction, and just like other addicting drugs, as fabulous as they may be, they muddle things in your life. Love = Drug = Cloudy state of disrepair.
As great as the drug seems at the time, it's really doing nothing for you or the relationship formed while in love.
So my advice to every couple out there is, fall out of love, and if your relationship stands, you then have a good solid foundation to build upon. If not, embrace National Break Up Season, be bold! Move on! And find a true someone not to love.

I shall not be celebrating Valentines Day this year, but will celebrate the sea, surf and amazing scenery in Tofino with a Man that I respect, honour, trust and laugh with. Perhaps I love him, but you'll never hear me admit it.
